I am wanting to have Vaser on my inner & outer thighs but the more research I have been doing the more I am unsure. Can a Dr please shed some light on the evidence mounting saying that the body has it's own natural 'set point' & after fat removal it will, over time, find another part of the body to gain mass in to make up for the fat loss from Vaser. I've also been reading that Visceral fat can increase as opposed to subcutaneous fat which as we know is very unhealthy and impossible to get rid of
Answer: Does fat return post VASER?
Hi Scarlett, Fat cells DO NOT multiply, migrate or return after VASER. After the age of 18-19, the number of fat cells in your body remains constant on different areas of your body depending on your genetic & ethnic factors.
Following VASER, the fat cells & the fat are removed permanently from the treated area. The fat cells in the untreated area still persist. If diet & exercise are not followed post procedure, these excess fat cells over the non treated areas, inflate like balloons due to accumulation of fat in them. This creates an illusion that the fat has accumulated "more" over other areas. It has also perpetrated the myth that fat migrates to the untreated area, which is not true.
The way to avoid this lies in addressing the areas of concern together rather than one area at a time (with due considerations & safety). Typically, we prefer to perform VASER liposuction in women breast down (abdomen, flanks, thighs) & in men, waist up,in one go. This covers all the areas of concern uniformly and achieves the desired body contour.
Some studies of late have documented an increase in the visceral fat, however a healthy lifestyle & a good diet post lipo is absolutely essential to maintain the results in every way.

Answer: Fat Return in New Areas After Vaser Lipo
Thank you for your question. There is research suggesting fat locations are not entirely predictable. That said, if one exercises, and eats healthy, avoids fast food and refined sugars, the visceral fat is less likely to increase. I hope this helps.

Answer: Post Vaser -does fat return?
Thank you for your question.
Human adipocuttes (fat cells) multiply actively in infancy and puberty. After that number of adipocytes stays relatively constant, fluctuation in size of the fat cells is responsible for fluctuations in weight when we gain or lose weight.
After Vaser number of fat cells are removed. If patient does not maintain active life style and healthy eating ,remaining in the treated area adipocytes can become bloated and large taking up space of their missing neighbours. This ,however ,will happen mostly after other untreated area's fat cells enlarged and that area will look bigger than before.
Patients therefore have to understand that having Vaser is not the answer to all their weight control problems, the trick is to sustain the result. There are no miracles: life style changes are compulsary. Knowing your calorie requirements to remain at the same weight level for your age and physical activities level is very important.
Overall, for individuals who are motivated and understands limitations of any body sculpting procedure Vaser is an excellent kick start for a desired body shape.

Answer: Fat Accumulation after Vaser Liposuction
Great question regarding what happens to residual fat after liposuction.
It's true that fat can gain mass in an area that was not previously treated with liposuction, if your caloric intake exceeds your caloric output. So, it's important to watch what you eat and try to exercise on a regular basis.
It's also true that you can gain visceral fat if your take in too many calories. However, it is not impossible to get rid of this fat. Once again, a healthy diet and regular exercise is the key to maintaining your results.
Thank you for your question!
