I fell and got a got a deep cut above my eyebrow, however, when the stitches got put in they look like they are stitched into my actual eyebrow/ eyebrow hair. I am confused how this would turn out and worried about eyebrow hair loss. What do you think?
Answer: Suture line alopecia Hello, sometimes incisions, and suture lines can cause adjacent hair loss or alopecia. However, looking at the first photo, it looks like the laceration was all above the hair bearing skin. I would be surprised if this resulted in lasting hair loss. Is it possible that they shaved or trimmed some of this hair to make closing the laceration go more smoothly? In this case it would certainly grow back. There is a chance that the trauma could result in a small area close to the wound where hair would fail to grow long-term. The only thing to do at present is to wait. If there is no re-growth there are still options.. makeup, tattooing, or even hair transplant can be done. Note: The above is intended as general plastic surgery education RE options, outcomes, and side effects and is not intended to reflect medical advice, or a personalized care plan without a detailed interview, medical history, and physical exam.

Answer: A combination of a scar revision, prp, and laser treatments to help reduce appearance of this scar Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Laceration If the actual laceration does not involve your eyebrow, you should not loose hair. However, if the scar is in the brow, you will probably loose some. Stitches usually don't cause lair loss.

Answer: Eyebrow Hair Thank you for your question. It depends on if the cut above the brow damaged any of your hair follicles. It almost looks like it is completely above the brow so I do not feel like it will affect your eyebrow hair but it is a little early to tell. There will not be any hair growth where the scar is but around it should still grow back. Hope this helps!
