Hello doctors. Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about girls getting happy or relieved when having a bowl movement after a BBL. Why is it so important ..? What happens if you don’t get a bowl movement after the BBL ? Does it mean you have a disease/condition from the BBL ? Thank you to all doctors that answer :)

The narcotic pain medication prescribed after a BBL leads to constipation. Even when taking a stool softener and drinking plenty of fluids, it can take 5-7 days or longer to have a BM. Many patients cannot have one until they start to wean or stop the narcotic pain medication. As you have probably experienced at some point in your life, it becomes very uncomfortable to be constipated. Going several days without a BM leads to bloating and discomfort. This on top of the pain/discomfort from surgery can be too much for the patient to handle.
