I'm concerns about incision marks and scarring. What can I expect? Even if the marks will eventually go away and scars will be minimal, how long will marks be at all visible? Will the marks be obvious? I'm considering getting laser lipo and would prefer not to reveal this to my boyfriend as he'd consider it unnecessary, but imagine incision marks will make it obvious.
Answer: Laser lipo incisions Thank you for your question. Laser lipo should not scar because it's non-invasive and there's no incision being made on the skin.

Answer: Incisions All incisions for laser lipo are small(2-3 mm) and if you go to a body contouring specialist the entry ways will be put in very hidden areas. Having said that it does take some time for those entryways to heal and they will likely be slightly red and noticeable if you are naked. These incision take 8-12 months to fully heal and fade.

Answer: Incision marks and scarring Incision marks and scarring with laser lipo is minimal, especially compared to older and more traditional methods, however the procedure in general will be difficult to hide completely, especially in the immediate post-op. Eventually the scars will fade completely, but during the first months of your recovery they will likely be a little red. Hope this helps! Be sure to consult with a Board Certified plastic surgeon about these concerns so that they can specifically choose less noticeable entry points.

Answer: What can I expect in terms of incision marks and scarring with laser lipo? With lipo today, as compared to the liposuction of years ago, scarring and incision marks are minimal. Today we use what are called micro-cannulas, which are so much smaller, 2-3 mm in size, so that we don't even make incisions any more. We now use what are called adits, which are little tiny holes, that heal so much better. Depending on the body area being treated, we try to hide as many of the adits as possible, such as under the bikini line, or in the belly button, but some will be visible. They will appear dark at first as they are fresh, and over several weeks will fade to look like nothing more than freckles, and generally over 2-4 months will disappear. However, if you want to keep this a complete secret, it will be difficult to hide these in the early post-op period.

Answer: What can I expect in terms of incision marks and scarring with laser lipo? The incision marks are very tiny. I usually close each one with a stitch and paper tape. They are not obvious when healed.
