Can I exercise while taking Accutane?

Question

Is it ok to exercise while taking Accutane? I normally exercise 4 times per week. A combination of kickboxing, cycling, and boot camp are my usual routines.

Joint and muscle ache is an expected side effect of Accutane therapy.  You can exercise but you many notice this more while on the drug.  Lowering your dose may reduce these symptoms.  Be more cautious, however, with contact sports such as kickboxing.

I only prescribe low doses of Accutane so my patients rarely (like never!) complain about joint pain. However, some people find they have this on higher doses of medication. You can absolutely workout while taking Accutane. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot
