Do Essix Retainers Fix an Overjet?

I got essix retainers after my braces were taken off when I was 13. I rarely wear them, but I was wondering if I start wearing them more often will the essix retainers fix my overjet?

Retainers are used to hold teeth in position after correction. In selected cases some slight movvement can be accomplished with retainers. But, any significant degree of overjet or front tooth prominence cannot be corrected with retainers. And if you have not worn your retainers for a period of time they may not fit properly. I suggest you consult with your orthodontist to learn what might work best to meet your goals.

The word retainer means to hold in your retainer can not fix anything other than a minor tooth movement if you can squeeze it onto your slightly crooked teeth and let it realign them..
