Is it okay to get your eyebrows wet during the 7 days after getting your eyebrows microbladed?

Question

My cosmetic tattoo technician has specified in her aftercare steps to gently wash your eyebrows with cetaphil and warm water, and then to pat them dry after, and following up with the aftercare lotion. I have been doing this, but after doing some research I have discovered that most microblading places advice against getting them wet. Will the water affect the colour and make the strokes dissapear? Help!!!

It's best to contact your provider for specific instructions.I like to just apply our Tissue Repair Gel for the first couple of days and then allow face washing, etc.  But, it's perfectly OK to shower and if some water is on your brow, just pat dry.The water will not effect the color.In good health,Ellen Mahony, MD

Thank you for your inquiry!
We recommend that you do not fully submerse your eyebrows in water for 12 days after microblading.  We also do not recommend using soap on the microbladed eyebrows for 12 days as well.  Microbladed eyebrows should be gently cleansed using a damp cotton ball in a circular motion.  Aftercare serum or lotion should be used after cleansing.  The ink needs time to be implanted into the skin so it is not recommended to use soap on the area for the first two weeks.  Hopefully this helps!

Hello and thank you for your question.
We recommend keeping the area dry for 2 day, then wash the area and apply vaniply or aquaphor very lightly twice a day for 7-10 days.
A touch up apointment is always recommended so if you do lose any strands from your initial treatment, your technician can doing all corrections at that visit.
