Hi, I have lines on the side of my mouth. I think it’s a scar from angular cheilities. I don’t know what procedure would be best for these lines to be removed.
Answer: Recommend doing CO2 laser for these wrinkles. Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Procedures for wrinkles near mouth There are several procedures that could potentially be effective in treating wrinkles near the mouth. The best procedure would depend on the patient's specific circumstances, including the severity of the wrinkles, the patient's overall health, and their personal preferences. Here are a few possible treatments: 1. Dermal Fillers: These are injected into the area around the mouth to plump up the skin and smooth out wrinkles. 2. Botox: This treatment involves injecting a purified form of botulinum toxin into the muscles around the mouth, which can help to relax them and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. 3. Laser Resurfacing: This procedure uses a laser to remove the top layers of skin, promoting the growth of new, smoother skin. 4. Chemical Peels: This involves applying a chemical solution to the skin that causes it to exfoliate and eventually peel off, revealing smoother, less wrinkled skin underneath. 5. Microdermabrasion: This is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny crystals to exfoliate and remove the superficial layer of dry, dead skin cells. 6. Topical Retinoids: These prescription creams can help to stimulate collagen production and promote the growth of new skin cells, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Each of these procedures has its own set of potential risks and benefits, so it's important for the patient to discuss their options with a healthcare provider before deciding on a treatment plan.

Answer: A couple different options ! Hi! Do you still have symptoms of Angular Cheilities? I would definitely recommend some home skincare products that work to restore balance in skin pH, is antifungal, anti microbial, antibacterial, and provides intense moisture and protection to the skin, particularly that area. In addition, we can do a CO2 laser + RF Microneedling combination that will help with the scaring and work to resurface the area :) If they are deeper lines, and close to the vermillion border we can also add a little bit of filler to help add moisture and plump up the area.
