Tight teeth and gums after genioplasty. Could this be nerve damage or scar tissue?

Hello, I had a sliding genioplasty 3 years ago and my lower teeth have been hurting, especially this past year. They are tight and hurt ( like dull toothache ) My lower gums feel a bit tight too. Could this be from scar tissue in the chin or under the incision? Or will it be nerve damage? Any help appreciated.

You have a somewhat deep mentolabial fold and moving the chin down 5 mm will diminish the fold. If he is moving it forward 5 mm then the effects on the mentolabial fold will provide a good balance. You may need an advancement of 6-7 mm.

With chin reduction surgery, you may need both a vertical reduction and then a chin "tuck" beneath the chin to prevent droopy soft tissue. The key is to maintain a natural mentolabial fold.
