Tanning issues after IPL. Is it likely to improve?

I have a question about IPL and tanning. I had IPL a year and a half ago for rosacea on the cheek area. Since then during the summer months my skin just won’t tan in the same way it did before the IPL. This has affected all areas of my skin. I’m not a massive tanning person but like many people did quite enjoy a healthy glow after a holiday. Have I developed photosensitivity from the IPL? Is it likely to improve?
