I had an 8 mm sliding genioplasty 3 years ago and I’m suffering from persistent tightness and discomfort. It’s affecting me a lot. My surgeon has offered a soft tissue release but I’m not sure this alone will work? Do you think it’s worth cutting the bone and reversing it 4mm or is it too risky?

The key is often the 'density'/thickness' of the skin/soft tissue. Male tissue has more fullness/structure so one would not expect that type of change. Risk of course has to be accepted, but that is reasonable
