Pregnant days before breast augmentation. Will I have to postpone the surgery?

Question

A slight trigger warning as this talks about abortion. My breast augmentation is coming up this Thursday but I have just found out that I am pregnant - 2-3 weeks. Will this mean that I have to postpone my breast augmentation? What are your experiences of this? Particularly as I don't intend to keep the pregnancy as it is very unplanned. I would be looking to terminate the pregnancy in the next day or so.

I would urge you to reach out to your plastic surgeons office immediately to inform them that you are pregnant. It would be unsafe for you to undergo a Breast Augmentation procedure at this time.

Typically a urine pregnancy test is conducted the day of surgery.  If your levels are elevated the surgery will likely be cancelled.  I encourage you to speak to your surgeon about this situation.

Proof of a successful termination by the doctor and appropriate quantitative  HCG levels would be necessary prior to any  surgery, if planning augmentation surgery soon after a termination.
