Is it normal to have pain behind incision after exercise at 2.5 years post op?

Hi, I had an extended tummy tuck 2.5 years ago. I have recently started intense exercise. Crunches have left me with an uncomfortable and painful sensation behind my incision line when moving which has lasted over 24 hours. I can feel it inside my body - an area which is usually numb, visually it looks fine. My surgeon is unavailable to talk (outside of the country) and I need to know if this is normal or not? Nerves waking up? Scar tissue? Is it safe to carry on? Thank you.
