How an I improve my skin texture after Morpheus8? (Photo)

Question

6 months ago I had morpheous 8 I’m totally devastated with the texture of my skin. Before this it was smooth now it’s holes lines all over my cheeks looks like I have acne scars and wrinkled skin I thought by now I may have an improvement but sadly not can anyone help with any treatments or will my skin get better with time .

Really sorry that you are having this problem. Unfortunately, it is another example of exactly why I have been cautioning my readers for years to exercise a hefty dose of "buyer beware" when considering treatment with any of the relatively expensive "bells and whistles" energy-based devices, including fraxel lasers and RF machines. These supposedly "next big thing" devices are backed far more by intensive marketing hype than any hard science. Sorry.  At this point, I would suggest consulting a board certified cosmetic dermatologist to discuss the possibility of professionally performed conventional microneedling to help improve overall skin texture.  A series of superficial peels may also be useful, either alone or in combination of the aforementioned. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Moxi is a ligher laser and helps with pores, we love it every 4-8 weeks along with peels between at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (MTS roller with anteage MD ampules weekly, see link) should be started now to prevent further aging. For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of 1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling 2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors 3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/Halo, Viva, Co2/Erbium 4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill 5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting 6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest 7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8/PiXel8 for tightening of the skin 8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months) Best, Dr. Emer.

The good news is that you can turn around your skin quality in a very short amount of time, but it may require some continued care in the future. All you need is apply between 10 and 12% of alpha hydroxy acid cream in the evening in a very thin layer all over your face. 20 minutes later apply 0.25% Retin-A cream also in a very small amount all over your face. This should be done before bedtime. When you wake up follow your usual routine and apply a good quality vitamin C cream and moisturizer anytime during the day as necessary. Within a week or so you will notice a significant improvement in the skin quality. If you’re over 35 you may continue this regime  for many years to come and it will help you in preventing wrinkle formation as well as pore formation. The things to remember is to use sunscreen when you know you will be in a direct sunlight. Also if you plan on going on a sunny vacation I would stop using Retin-A for about one week to 10 days prior to your trip. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City Plastic Surgery
