I find that I don't show enough upper teeth when I smile normally/talk even though my teeth are naturally Long. I have to really 'force my smile/smile widely' or/and move my lip to see my teeth which looks unnatural and doesn't suit my face. It seems as if I have the opposite of a Gummy Smile. Sometimes the glue can break down or fall off completely and not notice that the tooth shifted. Have an orthodontist check the glue on the back of the permanent retainer. Also, gap is not too big, you may be able to get a special type of retainer to close if you don't want full treatment....
I agree that it appears that you have lip incompetence that you may not have had prior to orthodontic treatment. If you had a lot of crowding before braces, the only way to fit everything in without extractions is to expand the arch and procline the front teeth. If this is done too much, lip...
