First, I want to say you’ve been through a tough injury, and you’re already doing the right thing by thinking about long-term healing. Scars at just 2.5 weeks are still in a very early stage, so they often look more raised, indented, or uneven than they eventually will once healing progresses.

Here are some steps and treatment options to consider:

Scar Massage & Moisturization – Once your stitches are out and the wound has fully closed, gently massaging the scar with a healing ointment or silicone-based gel can help soften thickened tissue and improve flattening over time.

Silicone Sheets or Gel – These are the gold standard for scar care. They help flatten hypertrophic (raised) scars and can improve texture and color with consistent use.

Sun Protection – Scars are very sensitive to UV light, which can make them darker and more noticeable. Apply sunscreen daily to protect the healing skin.

Steroid Injections – If the scar remains thick or raised, small steroid injections into the scar (done by a dermatologist) can help flatten it and soften the tissue.

Laser or Microneedling – Once the scar matures a bit more (usually after several months), resurfacing treatments such as fractional lasers or microneedling can improve the texture, color, and blending of the scar with surrounding skin.

Surgical Revision (if needed) – If the indentation or alignment remains bothersome later on, scar revision surgery can sometimes help, though this is typically considered a last step if non-surgical treatments don’t give the results you want.

It’s very normal for scars to feel uneven, indented, or firm this early, and most improve significantly with time and proper care. Starting with conservative measures like silicone and massage is the best approach right now.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. Your injury was created by a ball. That leads to crush damage which is wider than the cut and so you get a less appealing scar.
You may do ok with dermabrasion, IPL, laser. for now. But, it is also likely that a scar revision will help you.
