Would breast implants affect my sternum tattoo? (Photos)

Question

I’m currently a 34B (UK sizing) and wanting breast implants that are either 34DD or 34E. However I am wondering if this would affect my sternum tattoo.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Breast augmentation will not affect your current tattoo. The placement of the scar and the projection of the implant will not interfere with it.

Your tattoo is far enough away from your breasts that it most likely will not be affected by the implants.

Based on the photographs you have shared, your tattoo location is at the lower edge of your stream overlying your xiphoid process and then extending onto your upper abdomen. The most commonly used incisions for breast implant placement, infra areolar and infra mammary are both well above your tattoo. I do not think implants will affect your tattoo.

Breast augmentation should not affect your tattoo as it sits well below the breast footprint.

As long as no effort is made to lower the fold/crease, the tattoo should remain out of the field.
