Am I a suitable patient for a brow transplant? (Photo)

Question

I sadly over-plucked my brows when younger. My head hairs are pretty thick & I've seen pictures on here of brow transplants that look like pubic hair.. Would this happen to me with my thick hair? Makes me nervous. I don't want big brows as they don't suit my face and half my brows are missing so only start where my pupils are.. So, as this would require fewer grafts, would that make the procedure cheaper? I don't have much spare money but this could really change my life

Thank you for sharing your concern. The look of pubic hair that worries you is a result of a transplantation done with the wrong technique. Most doctors use the same technique as used for hair transplantation, which leads to a bushy brow look. It's caused since the implanted follicles contain more than one graft in it and they all grow in different directions. This is a procedure I don't advise as an experienced professional in this field. With the LOFT eyebrow transplant, hair grafts are implanted one by one, in compliance with the patient's wish and face structure. This way, eyebrows end up looking very natural and not bushy.

When hair is transplanted to a new area, it always retains it's original characteristics. So if you transplant scalp hair into eyebrows, it will grow long like scalp hairs and will be whatever color (may be darker or lighter than native eyebrow hairs) and will also retain it's shaft thickness. Therefore, grafted eyebrow hairs will certainly require grooming (trimming) and training (eyebrow gel helps) to have them look appropriate in their new location. They may require tinting as well, to be a good color match. As for "big brows" the width and shape of the brow is drawn out prior to the procedure so that you can see the expected results and approve them before starting.
Every practice is different but at my practice, (unlike scalp transplants) eyebrow transplants are NOT priced by the graft count but are rather priced as a package without regard for number of grafts used. So at least in my practice, using fewer grafts would not change the total cost.
