Question

Hello, i am very interested to undergo an eyebrow transplant for my right eyebrow which suffered from a traumatic laceration. I wish to fill the area where loss of hair has occured, however, my main concern is if the transplanted hair will be in the wrong direction/grow out straight. This is the biggest fear i have so far and furthermore i have read that the survival rate for transplant on scar is significantly lower. Please advice if i should go for it since the procedure is irreversible.

Yes transplanted hair will usually grow through a scar. It will have a lower growth rate than with healthy tissue, but a 50-60% growth rate through a scar can be a reasonable expectation.

Thankyou for your question. It is certainly possible to have  successful hair transplants in the scarred area as long as it is done carefully and each follicle is placed in the correct direction. You will, of course, need to trim the hair frequently as the transplanted hair grow faster than the natural eyebrow hair. If it’s done properly it should look 100% natural, but you will have to trim that hair because will keep growing, you can try a also a small tattoo of the area check someone who uses staccato SMP machine
