2 years post op, purple discolouration. Is this normal? (Photo)

Question

I had breast reduction and lift when I was 21, when I was 22 I had implants put in 10th April 2019. Since October 2020 I’ve been experiencing weird purple discolouration on the left one under my nipple and on the sides I’ve been getting red patches of skin, and the last few weeks slight discomfort. Is this normal?

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Thin, transparent, stretched skin and numerous dilated blood vessels will create this picture. Treatment with laser may help to improve this condition. Consultation with plastic surgeon/dermatologist/laser center would help. Good luck.

Your limited photos show some congestion of your veins and spider veins of your breasts. This could be related to the weight of your implants and your tissue thinning.  Your implants may be too heavy for your tissue.
