There are only 2 real options to treat tear troughs. If you have excess skin or the correct anatomy, they can be treated with either an external or trans-conjunctival Blepharoplasty. I use these for only very specific problems. By far, the best treatment is replacing the lost volume or filling the congenital depression. Unfortunately, the majority of injectors do this wrong. It requires a heavy filler, like Juvederm Voluma, placed below the orbital ligament directly on the bone or muscle. If done this way, it is safe with minimal to no problems and very effective.
