Why is my new skin scaly, wrinkly and scabby after Vitalize Peel?

Problem with Vitalize Peel. So had the Skinmedica Vitalize peel done on Tuesday and up until Saturday most skin is peeled off. However the new skin does not look like how i expected. it is pinkish red, it is itchy still. and it looks like it forms a light light scaly wrinkly scab all over the new skin. Honestly the new skin that revealed after layers of skin peeled off looks like I just got a peel done yesterday. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

After a chemical peel, you may feel like your skin is dry and flaky. We advise our patients to use Elevase creams after a chemical peel to help moisturize the skin and strengthen the skin's natural moisture barrier function. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian

Thanks for your
question and one thing you have learned from the other physicians that have
provided answers is that this type of peel may result in your skin peeling for
a week or so following the procedure. This is something that the person that
performed the procedure should have told you and should have provided you with
a skin care routine to use post-peel to minimize the actual peeling of the skin
– something that we routinely do. We do recommend that you consult with a board-certified
dermatologist or plastic surgeon and that you work with professionals in their
offices to maximize your results and that you have a skin care routine that
will give you the most vibrant skin following these procedures.

The likely reason that the skin does not yet look normal after your peel is that you only had your peel 4 days prior--you are still peeling.  The Vitalize peel is a modified Jessner's peel which can cause much more peeling than say a glycolic acid or salicylic acid peel.  Continue to moisturize regularly.  You should stop peeling after about a week plus or minus a couple of days.
