Fix for asymmetrical cupid's bow? (photos)

Question

The right side of my Cupid's bow is pointed (see second and fourth picture) and the left side of my Cupid's bow is rounded (see third and fifth picture). I would like both sides of my Cupid's bow to be pointed like the right side as it looks fuller and more nicely shaped than the rounded side which makes my upper lip look thin. What could be done to fix my problem?

Fillers such as restylane or belotero do great to fix the cupid's bow temporarily and looks so natural. A small implant is the way to go for a permanent fix tho.

Thank you for your question. Lip augmentation is increasingly popular because of its speedy recovery time and quick results. The lip augmentation can create a more full, natural looking appearance. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon because you seem to be an ideal candidate.

Lip augmentations with fillers is a great option to improve the fullness, suppleness and symmetry of the lips and in the right hands can improve your cupid's bow. Results can be very natural-looking and will feel very natural. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results and concerns.

Hi Madison, to be honest with you, wow you have beautiful lips. No ones face is truly symmetrical. There are limitations on what can be achieved with filler. I wouldn’t want to alter your lips, but would want to know more about how much this bothers you.

The definite fix for an asymmetry of the Cupid's bow is a small reshaping lift on the rounder left side. This is done by removing a very small triangle of skin, in the exact shape of the height of the Cupid's bow you want, and then lift the vermilion into the excised space.

In my experience, this particular asymmetry can be difficult to correct. I do, however, think you may see some improvement with a hyaluronic acid based filler like Restylane Silk.

When the lips are asymmetric (some section(s) of the lip(s) are smaller or thinner than others), dermal fillers can be used to precisely shape and augment the lip(s).  Using an HA filler can easily augment your upper lip to match.  This is a quick, easy procedure that will take about 10 minutes!  The cost is $600.  Hope this helps
