The truth is , that staging post op garments is a good strategy for selling the products . What it really means is that the material gets stronger as weeks go by and you are able to take more pressure on your skin . Personally i don't like garments with hard non flexible material , since they can hurt your skin and are not comfortable to wear , specially right after surgery. Also it is important to get a breathable material after surgery. Never too loose , and never too tight . Each surgeon has their own likes and dislikes . Best wishes
