I have had a deviated septum for years. It hasn't bother me enough to consider surgery, but I have always has a little bump on my the side of my septum. Recently the bump has grown, and it looks like a little white piece of cartilage poking through my skin.

Usually not. If the bump is from scar tissue, you may need steroids. If the bump is from swelling it will go away on its own. If the bump is from the bone, you may need a small revision
