Hello! I had a medial thigh lift in October 2020 and a revision in November 2021. There is still an abundance of skin and some fat towards the back of my upper inner thighs, where I continue to get sores and my thighs still rub together. Also, I'm very displeased with the appearance of the scars on my upper thighs near the groin area. Does the scarring look normal or cold it be improved? Does it look like more skin/fat can be removed? I thought this would look better after the revision! Thanks.
Answer: Thigh lift An in person consultation is needed for the best recommendation, however your submitted photos show widened scars. These can often be improved with a scar revision. The open sores should be evaluated by your surgeon before proceeding with any further revisions. An evaluation of your full legs in a standing, upright position is needed to determine if you are a candidate for further skin and fat reduction.

Answer: Medial Thigh Lift Revision Scars: Normal Appearance and Improvement Options Hi teenyshell, Thank you for your question regarding your medial thigh lift revision scars and whether they look normal or could be improved. Thank you for your history and your pictures. Most plastic surgeons would agree that your medial thigh lift scars fall within the “normal” range of appearances for medial thigh reduction results. Many medial thigh lift scar revisions look similar to your thigh scars. Therefore, your scars do appear to look “normal.” However, most plastic surgeons would also agree that your medial thigh reduction scars could be improved. Lasers, creams, massages, microneedling, and steroid injections will not significantly improve the inner thigh scars. Most plastic surgeons would agree that surgical excision of the inner thigh scar and re-approximation of the tissue is necessary. A permanent running suture is often used to maintain the scar line integrity for an extended period. From your limited pictures, it does appear that more inner thigh skin and fat could be removed. A thorough physical examination and better-quality pictures would aid in a more precise analysis. In my opinion, I would consult with your plastic surgeon and inquire about another thigh revision, perhaps utilizing a permanent, subdermal suture. I hope this post helps to answer your questions regarding your medial thigh lift scar revision: assessing whether the scars look “normal” and exploring whether the inner thigh scars could be improved. Good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.

Answer: Scar revision and liposuction The scars definitely could be improved with a revision. Also, at the same time, liposuction can be done to remove extra fat. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Medial thigh lift revision scars, does it look normal or could it be improved? Scarring can vary significantly from person to person, and it's important to note that everyone's healing process is unique. Medial thigh lift surgery involves removing excess skin and tissue from the inner thighs, which can lead to scars along the incision lines. The appearance of scars can depend on several factors: 1.) Individual Healing: Factors such as genetics, age, skin type, and overall health can influence how scars heal. Some people naturally form less noticeable scars, while others might experience more prominent scarring. 2.) Surgical Technique: The skill of the surgeon, the type of sutures used, and the closure technique can impact the quality of scars. Surgeons may use techniques to minimize tension on the incision site, which can contribute to better healing. 3.) Aftercare: Proper wound care and following your surgeon's post-operative instructions can play a role in how scars heal. Keeping the incision sites clean, avoiding excessive sun exposure, and using recommended scar creams or treatments can potentially improve the final appearance. 4.) Scar Maturation: Scars go through a natural maturation process, which means they may appear more noticeable in the initial months after surgery but can fade and flatten over time. If you're concerned about the appearance of your scars after a medial thigh lift revision, it's recommended to consult with your surgeon. They can provide personalized advice and recommendations based on your individual situation. They might suggest treatments or interventions to help improve the appearance of the scars, such as scar massage, silicone sheets, laser treatments, or corticosteroid injections. If you're looking for a second opinion, consider reaching out to another qualified plastic surgeon who can assess your scars and provide guidance on potential improvements. Keep in mind that scar healing can be a gradual process, and improvements may continue over the course of several months to a year.
