I had an umbilical hernia repair 7 days ago and now have a discharge from the site. Is this normal ?

Hi there- I think that average patient should be able to make a plane trip 2 weeks or so after surgery, provided that someone else is handling all luggage and that you give yourself time to get through the airport... But please understand that if you asked me the related (but different)...

You are 1 week post-op now, so you should know how your own personal recovery is coming, at least compared to other patients your surgeon may have cared for. Ask his or her nursing staff.  Let's assume your drain(s) are out and things are healing well. I'm sure your surgeon has outlined...

This definitely is where you need better communication between you and your plastic surgeon.  Please ask him or her exactly what they believe this lump may be.  Having said that, this is very unlikely or almost impossible to be an incision hernia since there are no incisions below...
