Reconstruction Gone Wrong? (photos)

Question

10 days post op Natrelle 410 FF 740 cc. Following double mastectomy. I was expanded to 660 cc. The left side was always smaller a little misshaped and had hanging stiking at the bottom, throughout the expansion all problems the plastic surgeon said would be corrected during the implant surgery. The left side is still misshapen, has hanging skin on the bottom, and an odd flat shape on the fold which is also very deep. Any advice about questions to ask during my visit nex Monday would be appreciated. Katie

Greetings.  These are good questions. You are still early in the post operative period so still allow some time for corrections.  The corrections can also be addressed surgically if they are needed in the future. It is not unusual to have some asymmetry between the two sides.  Of course, the goal is to try to make things equal if possible.  Continue to see your surgeon.  It seems like your surgeon is aware of the questions. Best wishes.

You are still rather early in the post operative process and things will change.  Also, its hard to analyze without seeing your pre operative photos for comparison. At this point just concentrate of healing and you can talk about a possible revision down the line if needed.
