Thank you for your question about whether body lifts can eliminate ugly stretch marks. Yes, a body lift can eliminate huge ugly stretch marks. During a 360 circumferential lower body lift an incision is made just above the pubic region and extends over the hips and to the buttock. An almost parallel incision is made above the belly over the hips and meets at top of the buttocks. Anything between these lines is removed; therefore, if the stretchmarks fall within this area, the stretchmarks are permanently removed. Typically stretch marks from below the breasts to the belly button will remain; however, you will gain significant improvement in your body shape and appearance and elimination of stretch marks if you undergo a 360 circumferential lower body lift. Good luck; I hope I answered your question regarding if body lifts can eliminate huge ugly stretch marks.
The body lift will not eliminate thestretchmarks, will only help getting rid of some of them. This kind ofsurgery is intended to help remove the extra skin and to improve your bodycontour. Best wishesThanksfor your question.
Some of the stretch marks may remain; however, you will certainly have a smoother contour after a body lift. Make sure that you are healthy and at your goal weight before undertaking this procedure.
Thanks for your question. It is hard to tell from the picture where exactly the stretch marks are and how severe they are. If indeed your entire body is "covered" in stretch marks, then the short answer is no, a body lift will not eliminate them. To remove stretch marks, you have to remove the skin that contains the stretch marks. For an example of markings that would be made in a body lift, please see the link I have provided. If your stretch marks all fall within this marked area, then it might be possible to remove them. But if you have stretch marks on your upper abdomen for example, those would not be eliminated with a body lift procedure.Best to get a consutlation with a local qualified plastic surgeon and let him or her examine you. Only through an in-person exam and discussion can you get to understand the options available to you and whether or not those options meet your goals.Best of luck!
Stretch marks can develop with weight gain or pregnancy, so unfortunately they are very common in the population of patients considering body lift surgery. Much to the disappointment of every Mom or weight loss patient that we see, there are no treatments other than excision that effectively eliminate stretch marks. With a lower body lift, the soft tissue from just above your belly button to your pubis is excised, and soft tissue around your waist at the hip and above the buttock is removed, as well. Your surgeon can provide a more specific estimate of the exact amount of tissue that can be removed from your figure. Stretch marks on the upper abdominal wall, around your waist, and on your lower back or buttock will persist, but as the skin is mobilized for closure, the position of the stretch mark may move. Consider that a stretch mark just above your belly button will end up at your pubis. Despite this limitation, body lifts still can produce profound changes in body contour and are life changing! Best of luck with your procedure.
You do not mention how much weight you have lost to be considering a "body lift", but I assume you have lost a fair amount and that you are referring to a lower body lift. The abdominal part of the lower body lift will remove all of the lower abdominal skin, nearly to the umbilicus, angling downward to each side as the tissue removal progresses laterally and then around the back, so stretch marks within that skin area will be gone. To see how that would encompass your stretch mark pattern you will need to see a surgeon who is versed in these extensive body contouring procedures, to demonstrate the extent of the tissues to be removed. A board-certified plastic surgeon is your best bet. Good luck !
