Losing transplanted hairs at 8 months

Question

I had my transplant done in February of 2023. I never fully lost all the hairs. Some have been attached ever since. Just this month I feel like I am losing a ton of hairs. What could cause this to happen after 8 months? Am I at risk of losing everything? I am so nervous. My doctor says this doesn’t usually happen and he wants me to have blood work done. Any advice or feedback is much appreciated.

It is normal for the transplanted hairs to fall out after the procedure due to shock. Typically final results are around one year post op. It is also important to be aware of the life cycle of hair. There are three phases. First is the Anagen phase that can last between two to six years, during this phase hair grows. Next, the Catagen phase, that lasts around 3 weeks and this is when the hair stops growing. Finally there is the Telogen phase where the hair falls and this can last 3 month.
