How does it impact the effectiveness of the hair removal if I have long gaps between treatments? sometimes as long as 4-6 months

I'm unable to come home for treatments during tougher semesters. I had my first 4 (full body) treatments at a 4-6 week interval and saw reduced growth. I then hit a rough patch in school and couldn't come home for 6 months. My visits home are less frequent now (once every 2 months), so will starting treatment again now continue the effectiveness of the original series? Will it be less effective because of the gap? (I also had 6 treatments 4 yrs ago and eventually the growth returned)
