I'm unable to come home for treatments during tougher semesters. I had my first 4 (full body) treatments at a 4-6 week interval and saw reduced growth. I then hit a rough patch in school and couldn't come home for 6 months. My visits home are less frequent now (once every 2 months), so will starting treatment again now continue the effectiveness of the original series? Will it be less effective because of the gap? (I also had 6 treatments 4 yrs ago and eventually the growth returned)

Strawberry legs can be challenging to treat, especially if it's due to hair being trapped under the skin. It's positive that you've undergone LHR, but the effectiveness can vary. Depending on the thickness and color of your hair, more sessions or a different type of laser might be necessary....
Laser hair removal requires touch up appointments to maintain your results. At SkinMD we recommend coming in twice a year! After you finish the package of 6 treatments you lose about 80-85% of hair growth.
If you are truly a skin type 3 or asian skin type 4, you would need laser hair removal with an alex beam not yag. Yag would be too long a beam for your skin type. Permanent laser hair removal takes an average of six sessions on a monthly basis for anything above the waist.
