As you probably already know, the number of laser hair reduction sessions can vary per person and are dependent upon a number of things including the device being used and it's settings, skin type, hair characterizations and spacing of treatment sessions. Because there are millions of follicles that can potentially grow on the body, it is not realistic to expect that every single follicle in the treatment area will be disabled. Over several treatments with appropriate intervals, most of the follicles that cycle through hair growth will be affected by the procedure and will be critically injured so they are permanently disabled. Due to the hair growth cycle in the underarms, it is recommended to do treatments every 5-6 weeks in order to maximize your treatments. It is important to remember that the body can convert these inactive or dormant follicles to grow later in life as a result of many factors: hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, menopause, disease or medications, obesity or idiopathic causes. This is why there can be no guarantees or promises of "all the hair gone forever" from a certain area. Follicles are closely intertwined with the skin and body and respond to internal physiological changes.
