I has a consultation for laser resurfacing for minor fine lines, skin texture, pores, and slight discoloration. The plastic surgeon recommended HALO for my concerns. He said they do 300 microns for everyone across the board as he doesn't think there are improved results, only more downtime, past that depth. Though research I'm aware it goes up to 700 microns. I'd really like to maximize my results and additional downtime is fine if it's beneficial. Thoughts about going deeper than 300 microns?
Answer: Halo depth We routinely go deeper than 300 microns. It depends on the patient's skin type, skin quality and what we are trying to improve. We have used the Halo at it's maximum settings on many patients. We are usually trying to improve acne scarring with those aggressive settings. For typical signs of aging we have found that 400 microns seems to give great results (comparable to 700) without the additional downtime. We had one of the first Halo's in the country and have a tremendous amount of experience. In the end, it's a customized approach so a definitive plan would need a personal consultation. Answer: Facial Rejuv -- PRP, Laser (Fraxel/Halo/Co2/moxi), emeragecosmetics COSMELAN ENLIGHTEN/ EMERAGESKIN AERIFY fraxel goes up to +1500 microns. it just depends on what you are treating. I suggest you consult an expert and I would prep your skin before halo with enlighten peel and use aerify monthly and rollers weekly to maintain the results. combine with BBL for more great improvement. at home peels like cosmelan, enlighten and aerify along with dermarolling (EmerageSkin roller with anteage AERIFY MD ampules weekly, see link) should be started now to prevent further aging. For facial rejuvenation, I would suggest a combination approach of 1) skin care with products and PRP/microneedling 2) PDT light therapy few times a month with growth factors 3) laser treatments like clear and brilliant regularly and a few times a year Fraxel/halo Viva, Co2/Erbium 4) Sculptra injections a few times a year for collagen production with fillers like juvederm/restylane/belotero/radiesse/bellafill 5) thermage/ultherapy for yearly skin tightening with or without PDO or cone based instalift threads for lifting 6) botox every 2-3 months to stop movement lines and prevent lines at rest 7) deep microneedling RF like Fractora/morpheus8 for tightening of the skin 8) Vascular laser like vbeam/excel V or BBL forever young treatment every quarter (3-4 months) Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Halo past 300 microns Hi there and thank you for your interest in the Halo treatment! The Halo fractional laser is a great treatment to deal with sun damage and loose skin, such as fine lines and wrinkles. The best thing about Halo is that it is completely customizable to give patients the results they’re looking for. If your main concern is fine lines, texture, and pores, then you may get the best result by going deeper than 300 µm. I don’t agree with a "one size fits all" policy for all patients. Delivering the Halo energy to 400 or 450 µm helps to stimulate collagen and elastin growth, and is a better choice for fine lines and texture. Believe it or not, delivering the energy to that deeper depth is safer and does not change downtime. It might be worthwhile to get a second opinion from another experienced Halo provider.Hope this helps!
