I am 39, have severe acne scars and a bad skin appearance with pigmentation, uneven tone etc. My dermatologist suggested the Deep FX saying the down time is about 3 days (much less than the Total FX which is around 7 to 10 days). Is it true, that the down time period is that short with Deep FX? Also, is it the best treatment for acne scars and skin tightening?

Thank you for your question. Sometimes, surgery is needed for this and not enough correction will occur with a laser. Sometimes, a laser will correct the lids enough to be satisfied. I hope this helps!
Hello and thank you for your question. Deep FX can be a very effective method of treating acne scarring - in the right patient. However, scar revisions are not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. The treatment needs to be customized to the precise needs, scarring and skin tone of the individual...
The duration of the redness depends on the settings used and passes made. I use the deep Fx alone for hypertrophic scars and fine lines from volume loss. 1-2 treatments. If the patient has photo damage (discoloration and/or wrinkles) they need active or total Fx, not Deep Fx alone.
