BBL for big pores? (Photo)

Question

A doctor suggested I try BBL for my large pores. I am pale and only 28 and just hate my skin texture. I’ve seen people with smooth skin who also have big pores across their cheeks and isn’t such an issue so I don’t know what to do.

A combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend lasers, microneedling/PRP, Cosmelan, peels and skin care. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

BBL is a fantastic device on many levels, but it is not great for pore size reduction. BBL will help even skin tone and remove sun damage and redness. It is also known to have anti-aging effects on the skin. Pores are better treated with radio frequency and micro needling. Best of luck, Dr. M

Thank you for your question and pictures.
Enlarged pores are best deal with treatments the deal with resurfacing the skin.  Typically BBL does not do this.  It is great for dealing with pigmented lesions and enlarged blood vessels from sun damage and rosacea.  And while there is some collagen production that results to smooth the skin surface it usually is not dealing with the deeper layers of skin.  The protocol for the Foreveryoung BBL does have a Skintyte component which does help with reducing pore size.
The best treatments for trying to reduce enlarged pores are Fractionated lasers, such as the the Halo by Sciton.  Alternately, using a series of  Micro-needling treatments with PRP may be helpful as well.

Definitely incorrect terms being used here! Maybe the doctor meant fat grafts to sub dermal face to improve large pores? NOT a BBL. I offer PRF infusions with micro dermabrasion and nano fat grafting in 2 sessions about 6 weeks apart. Fee $1,250/session.
