PRP to treat nipple desensitization ?

Hello, I had one patient who had bilateral decreased nipple sensation for years following breast surgery. We injected approximately 1cc of high concentration PRP under the areola on each side. A few months later the patient reported that her sensitivity had increased dramatically, and she was very happy with the results. It took at least a month for her to begin to notice a difference, but her nipples were much more sensitive than before. She said her nipples were "almost too sensitive". It should be noted that this is just one case report although I have heard of others. Not everyone will respond in the same way. If you are considering this, it would be advisable to use high concentration, high purity PRP so that an adequate dose of platelets and growth factors are delivered. More than one treatment may be required. Keep in mind the differences in PRP concentrations and quality depending on the preparation method being used. Good luck!
