I recently started sessions of laser lipo for belly fat(I lay on a table and they place lasers on my belly for 1 hour or 30 minutes sessions).Where does the fat go?What are the side effects?My technician performs the procedure and acts very nonchalant about it.She says that there are no side effects.I did my 2nd session yesterday for an hour.I feel weak and lethargic today.I also had a hot flash.Is this normal.What happens to my body after the sessions?

i think you had Sculpsure which is where paddles are placed on your body. the laser light travels through yours skin and melts the fat. the melted fat is absorbed by your body. it is very safe and is just done by a technician and not a dr or surgeon. You should plan on treating each area twice, at least. the treatments should be spaced about 6 weeks apart.Smartlipo is done in the plastic surgeon's office - under local anesthesia with oral sedation. very small incisions are made (3mm or so) and a numbing solution is injected through these incisions. next a fiberoptic laser fiber is inserted to melt the fat. After the fat is melted, liposuctioning is carried out. you can return to work the next day,. you will continue to improve for 6 months after the procedure. david berman md

Non-surgical fat reduction does appear to result in destruction of some fat cells, resulting in minimal improvement while laser liposuction will be far more aggressive in removing fatty deposits. There are very few side effects of topical laser therapy, but little benefit as well. Your choice based upon the extent of the fatty tissue exhibited. If minimal, consider the non-invasive therapy. If moderate or significant, liposuction will be far more effective.
Following laser treatment, damaged fat cells are broken down and are absorbed by the body. 
Spend wisely.

Thank you for the question.Non surgical laser technologies can poke hole in fat cells, liquify fat, which then can be eliminated by the lymphatics. Exercising post procedure is essential for the treatments to work. The fat cells fill up again when you gain weight. Multiple treatments are needed, mild to no results may happen.In contrast to Liposuction, where fat cell are being completely removed from the body, and can give real time results in one treatment.Best. It sounds like you have signed up for a noninvasive lipo "dissolve" technique. Whatever the technique, you'll get great benefits if you lose 20 to 30 pounds. Actually, you'll get about the same results. I put my patients on a diet and don't charge them the hefty fees that go along with these techniques. Consider just dieting or do a diet program like mine and save your big bucks money.
