Spironolactone is not FDA approved for hair growth or to treat facial hair growth.  It is a blood pressure lowering medication so you need to speak to your doctor and be under your doctor's supervision.

Spironolactone can be used off label as a treatment for "hirsuitism" or excessive hair growth in a hormonal pattern. The medication is not right for every female with excessive hair so be sure to speak to a dermatologist or endocrinologist. Yes, Spironolactone has effects on fertility. Women using spironolactone must never get pregnant because the baby could be harmed. Spironolactone blocks hormones and such blockade of hormones in a developing baby could have serious negative effects. Contraception is needed for any woman of child bearing age. Women using spironolactone can stop and resume normal menstrual cycles and the have healthy children. There is no known long term negative effect on fertility.  However, the medication must never ever be used during pregnancy.Be sure to sit down with your health care provider and understand in detail the risks and benefits of spironolactone.

Yes, spirinolactone can impact fertility as it is an androgen blocker and it will change your hormonal balances, something you don't want if you are going to get pregnant
