It is not entirely clear what you are describing in your skin. I strongly recommend evaluation by a highly experienced physician. I would start by seeing the physician who performed supervised your treatment. If you do not receive satisfactory answers then I would consider seeking opinions in person from other physicians. A face-to-face evaluation is far better than evaluation of a photograph.
Dear Slantyeyedgirl,I agree with the other opinions listed here. BecauseIPL or FotoFacial is not ablative it should only effect discoloration withinthe skin. I think it is very important you know exactly what type of treatmentyou received because this does not sound consistent with FotoFacial.I hope this has been helpful to you.Robert D. Wilcox, M.D.
Hello,Holes in the skin after IPL are not common. Are you sure that is the laser you had? IPL is a treatment for brown and red spots on the skin and does not ablate the surface like some other lasers. A stamping effect is possible with a resurfacing laser, but there should not be a reason for this with an IPL. Please confirm that this is the type of laser you had and make a follow-up appointment with your provided to discuss as this could be something else. I hope this is helpful and good luck.
You should not have holes in your skin after IPL. It is a non-ablative procedure meaning no tissue is removed. If you have actual holes or divets you need to see your treating office because this is not common and something is wrong. Perhaps you didn't have IPL....? Your skin is going to be very sensitive post IPL and you should be following a good post operative skin regimen. Try Janmarini Cleanzyme and transformation cream or skinmedica's dermal repair. I would hold off on any vitamin A or C creams for a week or so since you sound like your...

Unfortunately, yes, this is common. The reason is that IPL can send blood vessels into spasm and so they contract and disappear only to reappear later. The other issue is that most IPLs have wavelengths in the 600 and up range, and hemoglobin (blood) is only treated effectively in the 500 range....
Alcohol will not effect the efficacy of your IPL treatments. In general, alcohol can make people with rosacea tend to redden and flush, but that is temporary only. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion. Seek...
IPL treatments are ideally spaced 3-4 weeks apart for this type of situation. There is no guarantee that the blood vessel is going to clear, but you really need to wait until at least that third week to know for sure what your response is. Often, the provider can see a change in the vessel...
