How do I remove a lighter pigment birthmark on my face?

I am African American and I've had a 3" round circular shape birthmark on my cheek that is lighter than my facial skin tone since I was born. The pigment is lighter than my natural skin tone. & I haven't found a good make up brand that blends well enough. It is so embarrassing. Is there anything I can do? Most of these I see- the birthmark is darker but mine is a couple shades lighter. Is laser surgery my only option? Please help!

BEFORE any attempt at birthmark removal, a firm diagnosis must be obtained. This means you should see a specialist dermatologist. White or lighter birthmarks maybe due to cases of congenital vitligo, 'white birthmarks' or special moles called naevus anemicus, a diagnosis is essential. Lasers do not work in these cases.
