Can I get fractional CO2 laser after PDO threads?

Question

Hi. I have pdo threads already, and I'd like to go get a fractional co2 laser treatment when I'm off work at Christmas. I can't find any information about if having threads is a contraindication. Can I do the laser now or should I wait until the threads are dissolved? Thanks for any insight.

you can use PDO threads or instalift at the same time of the co2 laser , I find that the laser helps increase collagen products in the threads. I suggest monthly emerageskin AERIFY at home and weekly dermarolling (see link).  before and after co2 you should do a preparing peel to ensure the skin is ready for the treatment such as cosmelan and enlighten that we send to our patients virtually. Thank you for your question. You should not have any issues getting laser resurfacing after having PDO threads. The threads are located deep in the subcutaneous layer and should not be affected by the laser treatment. In fact, the combination of the two treatments should produce a very nice result for you by rejuvenating the skin at the same time you have enhanced the facial contour with the lift procedure. Make sure you are working with an experienced board-certified dermatologist to ensure your procedures produce the best results for you.

Generally there should not be any contraindication to having fractional Co2 after pdo threads and we often combine both procedures consecutively with good outcomes. Ensure that you seek experienced practitioners for both procedures.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The answer is yes, you can do CO2 resurfacing 6-8 weeks after the threads are placed.  This will give enough time for the threads to settle.  Good Luck to you!

Thanks for your question. Because fractional CO2 cannot go any deeper than the dermis, and threads are placed below the dermis, you definitely can have #fractionalCO2 after #PDOthreads! And, of course, you could also have the CO2 first, and place the threads later.
