Answer: Axillary liposuction Talk to your surgeon who is performing your breast reduction. Axillary liposuction typically takes very little time and is a very small area, I truly can't believe anyone would charge more than $1000., In my practice it would be approximately $500. Good luck, hopefully you can find a surgeon who is reasonable. Jane

Answer: Adding liposuction to insurance based surgery There are many variables involved. I'm assuming your breast reduction is covered by medical insurance. When I cosmetic procedure is added to an insurance based procedure the operating room time and the anesthesia time are usually separated out and charge to the patient. On top of this if the surgeons fee. Typical fee for a single area of liposuction is probably around $2000. It typically takes about 30 minutes to perform liposuction of a single area on the patient who is already under General Anastasia. Different hospitals and surgery centers bill in different ways. Sometimes the first hour is much more expensive at that age following hour and sometimes each hour it's priced the same as the next hour. In our hospital the first hour of operating room cost around $1000. The first hour of General Anastasia is $450 and each following hour is $350. I personally perform liposuction without the use of General Anastasia in my office using local Anastasia and minimal sedation. My personal choice would be to finish the breast reduction in the operating room and performed a liposuction at a different time in office by setting since it is a fairly limited area. This would save the patient well over $1000 in the operating room and Anastasia fees. Some doctors own their own operating rooms and Anastasia fees can be substantially lower in certain areas or if a nurse anesthetist is being used. I'm guessing you've already canceled said that her scheduled for surgery. Different doctors will have different approaches and support the patients in different ways. Different facilities will have different fees. The total estimated cost as an average would probably be around $3000. This could very substantially depending on the above stated variables Breast or ductions have one of the highest patient satisfaction's of any plastic surgery procedure. Patient often feel an immediate relief of neck and back pain. My wife had a breast reduction and it's never regretted it. Best of luck, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
