Of course insurance will only cover it if deemed medically necessary but what does that mean? I've read some policies require you to actually have cellulitis that doesn't respond to antibiotics and is causing tissue damage. That seems crazy that rashes, rubbing, pain or restricted mobility wouldn't be enough! So is this just what they say to scare ppl off or is it really, really hard to get ins to cover a panni?

I believe in your case it probably would be best for you to have a mini tummy tuck, panniculectomys are more for patients who have had extreme weight loss and have a large pannus of skin hanging in their lower abdomen area. Sending a picture also might help me determine whats best for you.
