How long do patients usually purge on Accutane?

I am 44 years old and have struggled with cystic acne for about 5 years. I only get one or 2 every other month, but I scar very easily. My dermatologist has tried topicals, antibiotics and years of Spironolactone. She feels Accutane is the best option. She says that most patients experience 2 weeks of purging. I have seen so many reviews online where people purge for months. I have a history of depression and I’m concerned about months of breakouts. What do your patients typically experience?
