How to Counteract Minoxidil's Effect on Collagen Production?

Minoxidil can cause aging by decreasing the expression of lysine hydroxylase in collagen production. Can this be counteracted, or must I just stop using it? I've never had a wrinkle in my life, and am noticing marionette lines after using Minoxidil for 2 months. Must I choose between my face and hair?

If you have side effects with minoxidil then you should stop using it.  You should not be adding medication to counter side effects of another medication.

You do not have to choose between your face and hair, but you should stop taking minoxidil if it’s excessive causing premature wrinkling. In the article, “Minoxidil: mechanisms of action on hair growth,” published in the British Journal of Dermatology 2004, it reveals what you mention about decreasing the expression of lysine hydroxylase in collagen production. Additionally, it also suppressed collagen synthesis by rat vibrissae dermal papilla cells, both in monolayer cultures and in cells grown in collagen gels. Finasteride causes even more side effects, such as erectile dysfunction, swelling in the face and/or lips and even depression. At this point, you should consider FUE hair restoration.
