CoolSculpting Is Appropriate In All Healthy Adults

There is no lower or upper age limit for CoolSculpting in healthy adults. Generally, we do not treat children (under age 18) with cryolipolysis, as their bodies have not finished growing. However, there may be exceptions. Anyone under 18 would require parental consent. CoolSculpting is a fast, minimally invasive way of eliminating stubborn pockets of fat with very little to no downtime and minimal side effects. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist to find out if you are a candidate for CoolSculpting.

Age Limitations with Non-invasive Body Contouring?

Non-invasive devices that use cold therapy, heat, ultrasound or radio frequency are found to be safe at all ages. The only limitation of treating under the age of 18 , would be the need for a Consent to Treat a Minor, as with any other aesthetic procedure.

Coolsculpting and Age Limit

There is no firm age limit for coolsculpting. However, a patient must be a candidate and be able to provide informed consent. At 18 you may be able to be a candidate and provide informed consent. Patients who are younger should have parental consent, but still may not be a candidate as their body has not fully developed.

Coolsculpting and Age

Coolsculpting is a fabulous procedure.  I have had patients doing cool sculpting from age 18 to 80 who are in good health.  The most important thing to keep in mind when doing this procedure is the importance of continued diet and exercise to maintain the great effects of the procedure.

Right Age for CoolSculpting

Every medical practice might have their own protocol, but 18 is the typical minimum age or else you would need your parents consent.

How old do you have to be to get coolsculpting?

Legally, a patient must be 18 years old in order to undergo any sort of plastic surgery procedure. Parental consent after 18 is not legally necessary but it often helps ensure the patient is an informed and appropriate candidate.

CoolSculpting age guidelines

While legally someone who is 18 years old can give consent to undergo a medical procedure, I strongly encourage parental guidance and input in teenage patients who requests CoolSculpting.  I have treated patients as young as 19 years old with excellent results but it is especially important when working young people to make sure that their expectations and motivations are appropriate.

How old do you have to be to have CoolSculpting?

A patient needs to be at least 18 to sign an informed consent for any procedure, including CoolSculpting.  You would need a consultation first to determine if you might be a good candidate for the treatment or not.
