How long to wait after mosquito bites to have a Laser Hair Removal session done?

I have spots that developed from recent (1 week ago) mosquito bites. Sometimes, 4 to 5 months are needed for those spots to disappear completely. I am scheduled to have a laser hair removal session (Diodo) in 3 weeks time. Should I postpone it? To be in the safe side, how long should I wait after the bites to have a LHR in order to prevent permanent spots? Your insight would be highly appreciated

Thank you for your question. All photosensitive medication should be avoided two weeks prior to the any laser service to prevent burns, hyper-pigmentation or scarring.  Please consult with your physician to make sure you are a good candidate.

I'm sorry this has happened to you. The darker skin types need the 1064 laser for hair removal and still caution needs to be done. You were over treated and the skin reacted by hyperpigmenting. If the hair is thin and/or inadequate settings are used, there is a risk for paradoxical hair growth...

Yes you can get hair removal when having an anal fissure, this is not associated.  However, if you are bleeding or have infection you should avoid laser removal at this time till it is healed.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I would caution against treating fine facial hair in darker skin patients, particularly those of middle eastern or Mediterranean heritage. By partially treating the hair follicle with inadequate settings this can happen. It can also happen because fine hair poorly absorbs the laser heat. ...
