I had VirtueRF done on face and neck - just finished my second treatment Monday. Considering doing threading to help with loose skin on my neck. Is it more beneficial to do this now and then have my third treatment? Combining treatments for maximum effect - or better to finish VirtueRF and then do the threading. Trying to maximize tightening and collagen production/effects.
Answer: Sofwave or Lower face and neck lift The concerns you have brought up could be addressed with a combination of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Depending on the condition of your skin, I would recommend 1-2 treatments of Sofwave to the face and neck area to facilitate with collagen production and tightening of the skin. Sofwave utilizes synchronous ultrasound parallel beam technology to minimize downtime and optimize patient convenience with minimal experienced pain or tenderness post procedure. The collagen regeneration process can sometimes take up to 12 weeks, so patients are expected to see ongoing improvements in the 3 month period after their treatment. Alternatively, a surgical lower face and neck lift could be considered if you are looking for more long-lasting results to address the loose skin on your neck. Ultimately, it is difficult to fully address your concerns without photos or a physical assessment of your face and neck area. I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified facial plastic surgeons to discuss your ideal outcome. This way, they can assess your goals in person and determine the best treatment for you. Best of luck! Kian Karimi MD, FACS

Answer: Microneedling RF and Threads? Protocol? Englewood Cliffs NJ In my opinion, I would complete the Virtue-RF and wait approximately 3 months before doing threads. This will allow better assessment of the laxity that needs to be treated with the threads. Furthermore, post operative swelling from the Virtue-RF can adversely affect the longevity and contouring of the threads. Jeff Rapaport MD FAAD Realself Hall of Fame
