Am I allergic to my crowns and veneers?

You don't mention whether the crowns have any metal in them or are completely tooth colored material. Often porcelain fused to metal crowns which contain nickel instead of a precious metal such as gold can cause problems. The issue with nickel is that many people, particularly women, are allergic to it. These types of crowns are also frequently made for a lower cost. Your dentist should certainly know what materials were used in the crowns.

It is highly unlikely that you are allergic to the actual crowns and veneers that have been placed. You may have developed Burning Mouth Syndrome. Your symptoms are inline with this diagnosis. I'm not sure where Columbus Tx. is but you should be able to have a see a specialist in any of the large metropolitan cities in Texas. It is manageable and your symptoms should diminish with time and therapy.

Wow! That is too bad. A reaction like this is unusual. I would find out from your dentist exactly what materials were used and the component breakdown, then see an allergist physician to be evaluated to see if indeed it is an allergic reaction or not.
