Is it safe to have BBL treatments on the neck? My concern is the thyroid area, or should this area of the neck be avoided?

I am considering BBL treatments on my neck and chest to remove sun damage, improve texture. Should the thyroid area be avoided? Are their cancer risks if near the thyroid?

Thank you for your question. BBL and other aesthetic lasers are very safe around the thyroid. BBL specifically is in the range of visible light that is forced through specific filters to target pigment in the skin. It is safe to have BBL treatments on the neck or chest. There is no known association between BBL treatments and thyroid cancer. The thyroid area can be covered during treatment if necessary.
